THE MUSEUM OF BOW 2010 CAMPER Residency showcasing works by: Lewis & Taggart (Bergen, Norway) =========================================== Residency runs July 6 to July 26, 2010 The Museum of Bow is open July 21 to July 25, 2010. * RECEPTION: Wednesday July 21, 2010 *Please note that this is an ongoing residency for the month of July. The artists will be working around the city building the project from July 6 to July 20, the public is invited to come interact with the artists as they are working. The Museum of Bow will open July 21, 2010. =========================================== Presented as part of Celebration of the Bow River 2010, Lewis & Taggart utilize TRUCK's Contemporary Art Mobile Public Exhibition Rig (CAMPER) as a ready-made support system. The Museum of Bow is a mobile archive that celebrates the Bow River and pays homage to its stories. Through collecting and re-working found narratives and materials characterized by their relationship to the river, the artists will create a temporary public site for exploration and wonder. Roving between various Calgary locations, the museum will act as a bridge between the river and the city, fostering new perspectives and connections. Lewis & Taggart is a manifestation of Canadian artists Chloe Lewis and Andrew Taggart. Residing in Bergen, Norway, they recently completed a collaborative Master of Fine Arts at The Bergen National Academy of the Arts. Their collaborative works have been exhibited at The Bergen Kunsthall, Norway; Luis Adelantado, Spain; Hordaland Kunstsenter, Norway; and The Lower East Side Gallery, Vancouver.
